My Mon has been in the hospital for 18 days after surgery and things are not looking good. Prayers Please!

Prayers sent...my Mom was in Rose Memorial in Denver and then in Manor Care in Aurora...she was in a total of about 24 days...I offer one thing...please make certain to take care of yourself while she is being cared for...I'd forget to eat and didn't sleep well and almost got down...the doctor told me to take care of myself so he wouldn't have 2 patients on his hands...

Prayers and YES take care of yourself! When my dad died I spent a week with mom so she wouldn't be alone and I got maybe 30 hours sleep in 7 days. I ended with a nasty cold/walking pneumonia that dang near put me in the hospital because I was so worn down.

Prayers up here also. And that advice about taking care of yourself is SO needed at these times. Moms are and always will be very special people in our lives, and sometimes, the hardest thing for us to do is take care of our own selves, so that we CAN make good decisions if and when those times come. You owe it to her to keep yourself up. I know. Went through it with my own Mom, and it was some of the hardest advice I've ever had to take. But it was good advice, and I believe it was the best and most loving thing I could have done at that time. May God's grace and love keep you and her and all the family, and heal her if it's within His will for her. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Martin, I'm very sorry for your and your family's loss of her being here still, but our mothers NEVER really "leave" us. Mine still perches on my shoulder at times, and whispers in my ear, "Now you know what to do. Just do it." I also often feel Dad's stare, and sense him asking me, "OK, boy. Whacha' gonna' do now? You gonna' control it, or let it control you?" So they never really leave us. They're just changed in form, and speak to us in a different manner, if we're attentive enough to listen to them, and hear what they're saying.

And they'll NEVER steer you wrong, either, just like when they were alive and here on earth with us. That's just how mothers are. We'll always have a connection to them that nothing can ever break. NOTHING!

Just be grateful you had a good one. Not all do, you know. And a good Mom and Dad is the absolute greatest blessing any of us will EVER have on this earth. God bless all the good Moms on this earth! They're SO important and crucial to us! She'll be waiting on you, now, to join her one day. That's your business now. God bless you all.

I can never find anything adequate to say to a person that has lost a parent. I can relate to the loss as my Dad died a few years ago. He was a man that worked with his hands and his mind. Some of his old tools are in my tool chest. The things that he was able to teach and leave with me are still in my head.

God loves us and blesses us with the memories we have of those that we have lost.
