The wife is a little mad today , I was in the kitchen melting down some old car batteries I had laying around and things got a little out of hand, I saved the dog but dang it I lost my best lead pot , Cant have nothing nice :mrgreen::(:)

Yea, I keep hearing people say you shouldn't melt car batteries, it's hazardous.

Well on a more serious note , I did try to melt one down today , outside of corse, but the trouble you have to go thru to tear it down , and it was a big golf cart battery, by the time I got thru with it there wasnt enuff lead to justify doing it . I had to try it just to see if there was enuff to be worth it , But there aint /

I didnt stick around , I turned on the fire and just let it cook for a while , wasnt worth the trouble

The posts contain more usable lead than the rest of the battery. Most batteries have nasty stuff mixed in with the almost unclaimable lead which makes it a foolhardy project.
The beginning story sure gave me chuckle though.
