Hello all new to casting, but finally getting some stuff figured out over the past 4 or so years.... I have collected a few different molds, all used though... one is a 44 mould of hp design. It doesn't line up and casts some ugly stuff.... I have been researching some different 44 moulds as far as shape a day weight goes. I would like a mould to have at least 4 cavities and to be a keith type design. Wider meplat that is, some of the swc designs that I've seen have looked too narrow imo. These will be going in a 629 and a ruger super black hawk. Does anyone know if there's a company out there that would make something like this? Or better yet have something similar they'd be willing to get rid of? I would rather do it this way than have one built. Thanks for reading, and letting me in to the community!
Henry.

Welcome! I think it's hard to beat the Lyman 429421. My 629 like it.

Here ya go...great mold, this is my "go to" bullet and mold for my .44 guns.
In my opinion, there may not be a better all around bullet for the .44 revolver.

Awesome thanks guys. Also is there a classified section here? I looked bit couldn't find anything of the such. I've been known to be blind a time or two though. I have some moulds I'd be willing to get rid of.

NOE has the 432-255 which is a clone of the 429421 and the 432-277 which has a very large metplat. You can get 4 cavity in both and both should be available in .432" and .434". The Ruger will probably need a .431" or .432" bullet.

Thanks guys, I'm out of 100s for a bit so I'm going to miss the sale. Will that 4 place noe mould fit in Lyman handles? I have a 4 plc 38 cal mould on a set of handles right now...
I used to know what the rugers patern was, I drove a Virgin peirce of lead through it when I first got it... what a pita... ended up feeling like I beat more outa the gun than I did the lead. Is there a decent way to do this? I need to do my 357 also... I checked some bullets I casted tonight and they will not slide through the cylinder. They measure 359 on the pointed and 358 on the wadcutter.

BTW how do these look?
I feel like I made them pretty hard. About 6 lbs lead to 4" solder

they look good, I suspect you may want to make sure your moulds are closed all the way to prevent the finning or watch the temp of the mould when casting.
yes the lyman handles will work on the NOE mould just fine.

Thanks guys. I just tried one of each to see if there was any leading. There wasn't any that I could tell. Do you think that ratio is about right? 6lbs to 4"? I scared myself tapping a nose with a plastic hammer last night, then I tapped some of the other lead projectiles I've bought in the past and they did the same thing so that made me feel better. I tried various tricks to see how hard my lead was but wasn't satisfied. The wadcutter definitely made it through my 5 gallons of water (the tall way) and the pointed nose made a crease in the bucket bottom as well... need to get some sand instead. I will check the fitment of the blocks to try to get rid of that line... as for the heat I have no idea what I should be at, I can tell you that it flows well and takes about 4 seconds for the sprue to solidly and become the frosty color. Thanks for the replies everyone I appreciate it!

I have the Keith style SWC 240 grain Saeco mold. Used it about 30 years for .44 Special. Terrific all around bullet, shoot it in my 629. Very accurate with a Bullseye powder charge.

I just got a 429421 4 cav Lyman mold and can't hardly wait to try it out, one side is stamped 07-04 I guess this the manufacturing date. The mold is very tight and looks new maybe used once. I have been using a 2 cav 429421 for years with great results.
