I'm thinking about getting a Chesty holster for my Ruger Super Black hawk 44 mag 7 1/2. I have a Bianchi x15 and several belt hostlers leather and kydex. Even have a kydex shoulder holster. Reading up on the different makers and reviews. Anybody here have there druthers or suggestions?

Mernickle is good. I have a couple of his holsters and the workmanship is excellent. There's a lot of really good Holster Makers out there, and I'm sure others will comment on this.

I have one for my SBH Bisley as well and it is similar to the one I'm showing for my S&W 696. They have just about every type of holster know to man for just about every gun known to man in every color known to man. And they all are pretty nice for a reasonable price.

Check them out. http://www.mernickleholsters.com/sh-chest/sh7b.html

I really like El Paso Saddlery. They have a bunch of very nice designs including a "Tanker" chest rig you might like.

I'm fond of crossdraw styles for field guns, like the Bianchi #111 Cyclone.
They keep the pistol easily accessible, yet out of the way... If you ever sling a rifle while wearing your holstered handgun you will immediately see the benefits.

I have the Wyoming Combination Holster that I had made special for a 500 Linebaugh Maximum with an 8" barrel. I really like it, although I seldom carry that puppy much any more - hardly might be a better term. Some leather makers just do a plain great job and the holster will last a lifetime of hard use - and it'll take many years to start showing "character".

Be sure to look at Diamond D Leather.

I don't own one, yet, but I like the fact that they put the grips slightly lower than any of the others I've seen. Plus they have a good looking chest rig set up. Personally I'm leaning towards the Alaska Hunter hip holster as I really have no need for a chest rig.

I've had good experiences with Galco. They're a nice quality holster for something mass produced. Check amazon and opticsplanet for some good prices.

Another one I've been really happy with is a horsehide IWB holster from Kramer. I have had one of these for years and carry my HK P2000 in it regularly. It has held up very well over the years.

Wear a suit & carry it in a briefcase. The deer will just think you're going to the office.....Best, Thomas.
