It looks like MEC has introduced a single stage metallic cartridge press.

Hi,
Thanks, never heard of it!

Admittedly at that price point ($170) I'd just pick up a Cast Steel...

RCBS A2 Press!

That's a little less then I paid for my Dillon 550

My local MEC dealer has one on order, not sure when I'll see it, he says $150.00 and tax is what he'll be asking.

He's hoping it has some gimmick to push the sale other wise MEC is a day late and a dollar short getting into metallic single stage press sales, Lee will eat them alive!

As soon as it hits his floor I'll go look it over and post a review unless some one beats me to it.

^^^ That is the best price I have seen. Retail/street price everywhere I have looked is $179.00.

Love MEC shotshell loaders, but I'll stick with my RCBS Rockchucker.

What's up with the linkage. Doesn't look typical.

It ties the linkage to help reduce side deflection.

Take care

It looks like a solid press to me. MEC makes some good things and their customer service is among the best. It has a sort of floating shell holder and on board priming. It's one inch ram and cast iron body should last well and it's linkage looks good. I would rather see the price a little lower.

It is good to see new products coming to market.

It looks like MEC perceived a gap or void in the market and designed an offering to completely MISS the opportunity. Strange because they have a product line which is well thought of and well received by customers. Oh well maybe their marketing will overcome the pricing for a basic press.
