First bucks of the year...not Cast

Got this 8pt buck on Wed Oct 26th...chasing a doe pretty hard...had her tongue hanging out. He was 4yrs old...rack was trashed from fighting...but still proud to get him. Took him with a .243 95gr Winchester PowerPoint at 125yds...bang/flop. Hunting a new lease...still trying to figure out what they are doing as we did not get the property until the week prior to the season opening. I think we should have been closer to both of these bucks...kind of hard to hunt a place and scout it, too. We have tried to limit our scouting so as not to spook them up, too much. My son got the 8pt in the lower picture, at 173yds with the same rifle and ammo that I used on mine...bang/flop, also, on Thursday Dec 1st.
