I am casting .312 ,180 gr. rn using a Lee moulde for a Mosin 7.62x54r and am looking for a recommended COAL listing. Can anyone help?

Does it have a crimp groove? If so use it, if the round is to long, trim brass shorter.

Make sure the gas check is in the neck of the case. You don't want the grease groove showing either. So set it where ever that is for your bullet

It will also depend on how eroded your throat is. I don't use that boolit in my Mosin, but I usually start it with the groove(s) I am greasing just in the mouth and seat deeper until I only feel minimal resistance to chambering. With my Mosin's throat I rarely have to go deeper, the lands have a long gradual lead in, but the throat itself is groove diameter.

P.S. I've yet to find a boolit that is too long for the magazine either, lots of space there.

I'm seating a powder-coated Lee 312-185 to 2.840 in my 91/30. Flawless feed and better-than-ball accuracy.
