while I was at work my oldest son stopped by the house to go hunting was going to take my rifle. when he was loading it the mag catch pin fell out of it. He's been thinking of using one of the handgun and my ruger 454 was there ready to go. He took it and my shooting stick and headed to the woods didn't make it to the stand when a he saw the deer coming on the flat below him sad he had to move around a tree try to get a good shot got in place told me it was a little shaky at first butt got it settled down and droped it in its tracks at about 50 yards. had some good timing took about 15 minutes to get his first with a hand gun told me he has to get one now think he's got the bug for handgun hunting now .181836 Did good first time with handgun.

Nice!

Been thinking about taking a .44 or .45 out later this season. Don't need meat now, but never used a handgun before.

Nice deer! Terrain here in WV makes handgun hunting pretty viable. I can't say how many times I've shot deer at less than fifty yards or needed both hands to get up the mountain.

Great Job on the Hand Gun Deer , it adds a whole new level to the game . You have practice , plan what type of rest to use and how to use it effectively . I'm planning on heading out in the morning with either 30 Herrett Contender or 7-08 Savage Striker.

Great job. Wish I could handgun hunt. Here it's only bow or shotgun.

Good for him.

The rest of my season is devoted to the handgun. I always get one with the rifle first and then go to the shortgun...which is probably bassackwards...they are easier to get, earlier in the season.
