I don't really know what these rifles are like but I picked up this Pedersoli 50 caliber Kentucky rifle today off of one of our forums. In fact it is in the mail . It's had very few shots through it and was at a price that I thought was very reasonable so I snatched it up.

I have the pedersoli frontier in .54 and absolutely enjoy the gun. It shoulders well and is more accurate than I am. I hope you enjoy it.

I don't know what they're like either, exactly, but that one sure is pretty. Pedersoli has a good reputation, and that looks like a good, practical hunting rifle. It should serve you well.

Nice looking front stuffer...
I sure would like to have one of his lever guns.

There was one in our LGS last week, .50cal. If it had been in .45 I might have bought it instead of the Lyman GPH I got instead :)

Sweet! Pedersoli are very good guns. I have a 50 cal frontier flintlock that I use mostly for hunting.

Well, I received the rifle yesterday. It has a 1984 production date. The rifle is indeed in very nice condition for the age having only a few typical minor marks in a couple of areas, no cracks. Has a nipple shield installed. The bore is excellent, full case color on the lock. The bluing is excellent. Came with the ramrod and a cleaning rod. I find it to have a very good balancing point and the curvature of the butt fits nicely into the pocket of my bicep.
had one in .45, nice rifle, short 36" straight barrel, make sure to check and clean out that patent breech.
