took a short jaunt down the Interstate this evenin' so's the wife could get caught up on the computer stuff she has to do from time to time at work. on all the bridges & overpasses there were police cars & firetrucks & such, all with their lights flashin' & big flags hangin' from cherry-pickers. no holiday that I know of & I'm pretty sure they're not celebratin' Castro's passin' or mournin' Florence Henderson's death so, any ideas what's goin' on?

CPO Scott Dayton of Woodbridge was KIA in Syria on Thanksgiving. Perhaps it had something to do with that?

Nada with the flags. Did you have any Military Vets pass away lately particularly with MOH/Silver Star etc? We have these types of displays quite often for Men we are escorting with PGR to their final resting place. Police or Fireman KIA often have these types of displays but I've escorted a number of military funerals with this.

It is quite humbling to see that despite what we hear on the nightly news the majority of Americans still honor those that served our country especially if they made the ultimate sacrifice.

this is kinda what I thought but, I have checked all the local papers & TV stations and their websites & not a mention of the event or reason for it anywhere.

If it was a fairly large display, or gathering, check you tube. Maybe someone posted a video of it. I'd type in the location and maybe date.

I am sure they will tell you all about the display they went through all the trouble to put on. And please post the results, it probably deserves more exposure.

I think it was the funeral for US Marshal Patrick Carothers. He was killed in Georgia but was buried in Virginia.
