you ever have moments like "oh whats the use"
well that is the exact way I felt today like throwing in the towel
after a very windy opening day and not seeing a blessed thing I was
full of anticipation and eager to hunt today but after seeing nothing again
I was going to abandon hunting for the day so I went back to my shack and
was thinking of leaving but early in the day I decided to hunt a different location
on my property which would face a longer shot possibility so I switched guns and
headed for the stand. This stand is on a field which is the boundary of my property
and the start of the neighbors and they have a 2 track the are always walking back
and forth on(seemingly).Sat down and not more than 2 minutes sure enough a hunter
walks back to his warming area and across my back field.I am getting more P.o'd but
stay put, glad I did not more than another 2 min.I see a buck run and stop in my woods
adjacent to the field I shoot center chest facing me and he runs off and stops again before
leaving the woods and I anchor him with a final shot.Just as I am getting out of my stand I
see another hunter walking on the 2 track following the previous hunter's route.I ended up
with a fine 10 pt.buck and had I quit I never would have had the chance at.
Will post pics when I upload them
Sorry for being so long winded :Fire:

A few years ago while blackpowder hunting, I had a family harvest a Christmas tree under my stand, 10 minutes after they walked away I shot a nice doe! Nice Going! Flyer

no actually traded the 358 for the 280 ackley because I went
to a different stand where a longer shot was possible
the load was 140 gr Accubond with 60 gr of imr 4831

just finished processing the buck I shot on Sunday
I forgot what a chore it was but thanks to help from my wife and my son
we got it done
it made it quite a bit quicker this year thanks
to the recommendation's from the members here on a
vacuum sealer that made the wrapping a whole lot easier

yesterday I missed a doe at 173 yards basically shooting without a good rest
today had 3 within 40 yds but could not get a clear shot had to let them pass
its like they almost knew to keep a obstruction between us then they walked away
and kept a cluster of trees covering them
next week is muzzleloader season so I will give them a rest from me anyway

nice buck and the vacuum sealer was one of the best thing I got so much better than paper and tape

If you do not want to cough the cash for a vacuum sealer, get the big . . . . BIG roll of plastic wrap from Sams or Costco,

Wrap the boneless cuts tightly, label and put like cuts in a 1gallon or quart freezer zip lock bags.

I dropped freezer wrapping paper YEARS ago!
