i curently shoot the gb 434290 in my levergun, but it requires a lever and a half to chamber.(eject and lift, then lower and lift to chamber) large flat nose.

so here it the question >>>>>
what is the heaviest boolit that will cycle SMOOTHLY thru an 1894 micro groove and shoot accurately?

i hate buying another mold, but we are now shooting the carbines in competition, and the double clutching the lever is killing me.

thanks

Get one of the Ranch Dog 432-265's , he is now selling them on 6 cavity moulds for about $50 .

And if you wish to have heavy Ranch Dog also has the 432-300Gr both are of gas check design. :)

well as simple as it may seem it was just OAL. i had this oal set for my super redhawk, and loaded to work in both. so DUH!, I shortened one up to the top crimp groove and it cycles fine. so i just need to work up a new load and go back to shooting...and cycling theat lever quickly!

thanks

I've had the same problem with feeding using a Lyman 429421 due to both OAL and also the shoulder hanging up on the chamber mouth. If I seat deeper than the crimp groove it feeds better but still often hangs up on the shoulder.

I know the Keith semi wadcutter style is a popular boolit for many especially with handguns but I have found it to be a real problem for feeding and it has given me rather poor accuracy in the Marlin as well. I opted for a round nose flat point that feeds and shoots far better.

This mod should help for the longer OAL http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=7750
