It appears that MC passed away suddenly not long after his last post. Please say a prayer for him and his family

We are indeed diminished. I will always regret not meeting Charlie in person. Seems we both used to stomp some of the same ground up in that Highwood - Shonkin crick country. Hope to see you when I get there to the other side Charlie. Prayers for those who remain behind - especially his wife

Another good one gone.
I pray the Almighty grants comfort to his wife, family and friends.
I hope that someday we'll meet in a better place, and we may finally get to share that beer together.
Please Lord, make it so.

I've always wondered whether I should create a system that would automatically make posts to various sites and send emails in the event my death. It's easy enough to do on your own personal website, but when you have to work with a lot of other sites, it gets to be a pain since they could change things that would make your method not work without your knowledge.

Does anyone else remember when someone disparagingly called him Chuck, while responding to one of his shall we say, sharp posts? Probably being a smart aleck.
I find it funnier than hell to find that he was generally known as Chuck but when someone called him that when they obviously didn't know his nickname, he took umbrage. Ha, that is classic Montana Charlie, at least to me.

I regret our last interaction in the pit was not entirely positive, though I've shared many comments with MC in years past.

Sigh,.

May the god Lord bless him and keep him.

He was knowledgeable and articulate. I always read his posts and identified with his cantankerous manner. Just sent a PM to him yesterday or the day before as I'd not seen a recent post from him.

If I remember right, his signature read, "Retired twice. Just raisin' cows and livin' on borrowed time".

Doggone it!

Ha, I remember it well, we both sat in the corner over that!

May he rest in peace, so sorry for his family, he will be sorely missed.

Charlie and I had a few set-tos, but I always respected him. He was the kind of guy who'd stand on his own two legs, look you straight in the eyes, and tell you exactly what he thought and why. Very simple, usually, and simple is usually the best answers. You never really know a man until you get crosswise with him, and then, his character really comes out. Charlie's character was always first rate, and I'll miss him very much. He was a man's man, and cared not a whit what others may think. He did his OWN thinking, and I love a man like that. I'll miss his presence here. May his wife and loved ones find the peace that only our Lord can provide.

Can't believe he didn't get to vote for Trump, but I know he's looking down with a big ol' smile on his face at the results, anyway. He was never the kind of man who sought credit for what he did, and only seemed to care about the results, and that they were good. A man can't get much better than that. God bless him and those he's left behind.
