Pete had one built up and I mounted his scope. We went down to shoot and first thing I noticed is it is louder then I expected. He had some sad groups but we got it on at 50 yards. Moved to 100 and he had the same. We figured to add clicks but the darn gun has little drop so we were back to the first setting.
He complained about the trigger so I took 2 shots and found it perfect, clean break at what feels like 2#. My 2 shots made one hole that you could just see it was 2 shots.
I set a can and part of a spray can top on the rail, his son took both.
As they went down I looked at loads and found his problem. Run out must have been .030" on a few.
For now he is using jacketed. I asked if he cut the edges of the necks after he said some were hard to get in.
Then we started to get failures to eject with brass stuck neck up in the receiver. I looked inside and said the thing is dry, why didn't Karl lube the bolt? I told him to clean and lube. I need to see if base screws are sticking through too. Base was already installed.
Anyway, I see why you guys like the caliber, it is fun.
Now to make him real boolits!

300 is a blast, I have an upper, my son has an SBR and I have an encore pistol with 7.5" barrel. I also have a can for it, that is real fun.

Cheap to shoot, lots of fun and does what it should. I optimized mine for 300 PF - bottom of 30/30 jacketed range. Doing a 10" pistol build now, my 170 & 185 mould nose feeds OK with Lancer mags (30/30 RD clone moulds). The 170 should give me 200 PF which is better than my 40SW load @ 150. Dang pistol tube is too short - the buffer bottoms out before L.B. so off to get a carbine tube & drill out the screw. Tube was given to me, probably from a 9mm pistol build. Actually don't care about L.B so as I can adjust the gas I may just make sure it cycles. Supposed to be a cheap build.

I shoot 110 and 125g Speer out of the 16 inch barrel, and 230gr cast out of the 8.5 inch barrel.

One is loud, one is not, Both are good out to 200 yards. The Speers are out to 325 yards.

What a fella does with a Blackout is his own bidness I figure, but it isn't difficult to make such things shoot small groups if you do your homework. The Sneezer had a run on the range a few days back and has not changed its evil ways.

I've been fiddling with alloy mix and loads a little. Doesn't look like it on the target but that's 5 shots at 1 o'clock from the X. 30:1 alloy, 180 grains of LRN from a Brooks mould. It's a bullet that works well at sub velocities from a BO.

Love me some Blackout! Great round for us tinkerers/casters. Also an absolute deer hammer with the right projectile (Hornady SSTs are a favorite). Cheep to shoot and fun to play with. What's not to love?
