On the Alliant Powder website it gives the following load:
.45 Colt
8.3 gr. Green Dot
CCI 300 primer
200 grain SWC
5.5" barrel

Is this load at or under 14,000 PSI?
Thank you.

QuickLoad indicates 14576 psi for the Lee .452, 200, LEE 452-200-SWC...

So, if QuickLoad is correct, you might be over 14000 psi by just a tad...

It's up to you if you want to accept QuickLoad's calculations...

Good-luck...BCB

If the load is published on Alliant's web site, that means they have tested it as being within SAAMI pressure limits.

They don't put up any hotter "Ruger Only" loads.

that's pretty close to uniques data.
if you compare the data you'll see where the unique load falls on the chart.
then look at red-dot [which is on the other side of the speed chart from green-dot] and see where it lies.
green-dot loads should be super close to the middle of the two.

Thank ya'll for the input.

Would it change anything if the boolit was more specifically the Lee 452-200-RF versus their 200 grain SWC?

QL is actually saying it would be 13810 psi with that boolit, so i guess it might matter a bit, but certainly nothing I would worry about...
