I have two RCBS Molds
Both molds are marked RCBS-240-SWC
But not the same Boolit ??
Diff In Boolits Right vs Left..
Meplet smaller
Diff size driving bands
Almost no crimp grove
Front driving band not hitting sizer
Second driving band wider
Same
Weight
Length
Both shoot good
Has anybody seen this ??
Did RCBS change design

cherry change.
at least they are close.

I have lyman molds with the same number and they have.
different style lube grooves.
different drive band lengths.
different nose shapes.
different ogives before the meplat.

If you're not happy with the mold send it back to RCBS they'll replace it no questions asked

Had the same thing with two Lee 205gn moulds.

One turned out to be an older design.

I have that problem with two saeco 130s my 2 cavity has square lube grove , and the 4 cavity has the round grove . It may be in my mind but it seems the 2 hole shoots better but the 4 cavity makes them faster . But I'm not that good of a shooter , might just be a good day bad day thing .

No guarantee which one you will get or if it would be a third cherry.

I don't think it's anything to do with design change. It's simply out of spec and they don't mind.
And Lyman is the leading offender, I don't know what it would take for them to reject a new cherry.

I have one in .45 cal. that looks like the .476 mold I used to have. The little green box says it's supposed to be something else. I sent some pictures to RCBS and they wanted me to send it back, but I declined. They said it was badly miscut, as it was supposed to be a SWC. It ended up a RFN. It shot really well in my Ruger.
