I need some info on how to load some 12 gauge black powder shotgun shells for my pre 1900 Ithaca double barrel with Damascus steel.

Thanks,:)

I would start with 25 brass shotshells. Those will need slightly oversized nitro card, cushion filler wad, and overshot cards as the brass is thinner than plastic or paper hulls.

Here is THE source for brass shells, oversize BP wads, etc. and information:

Loading, shooting, and hunting with BP shells is a great way to "connect" with the past.

Enjoy!

Dale beat me to it! I was going to suggest the same site. That is good info there.

Also something that might help is V.M. Starr's write up on muzzleloading shotguns:

http://home.insightbb.com/~bspen/starr.html

no info on cartridge loading but there may be some useful info in there on powder and shot charges, wads or cleaning and it is a good read anyway.
