Just got a deal on a stainless Colt Commander and a Colt New Agent (blued). Took them to the range on Sunday. Used 200gr Lyman SWC and 230gr Rainier plated. Commander had a few FTE on last round, both cast and plated. New Agent was the surprise, not a hiccup and was a lot easier to shoot than I thought possible. The cast were not hot but the FMJ were warm. A lot faster recovery than I thought possible. The "trench" sight in the slide takes a little getting used to but after figuring out where to hold, about 2" above top of plate, hits were consistent on the 8" plates at 10 yds. Definitely not a target gun, but performed a lot better than I thought for a gun that size with full house loads. I am a lefty so an ambi safety is in the near future. Called Colt and they said any 1911 after market would fit. So as soon as I get that installed, I just found my new carry gun.
