Smashed this one this afternoon at a little under 100yds dropped in his tracks using a 35-200FN over enough 3031 to give me about 1900FPS. Super exciting watching one drop using your own hand cast loads.

That,ll work all day long. If the shooter does their part, the cast lead boolits will do their part. The proof is in the eating. Really Nice one. Congratulations on a hunt well done. Be sure to leave a few for seed. HE HE HE.:Fire:

Nice buck! I used that same bullet to kill a couple hogs in GA. It does a great job.

I hoping to post a thread like this within the next few years, got my load all set for my .35 rem with that bullet and 3031 this summer and just need to try it out on a deer now.

I'm a big believer in this 35 Rem and cast flat point deal this buck dropped like a rock and the wife was sitting 200yds away in the house and said she heard the smack very predominantly.

Wow, nice buck and a great shot with a peep sight no less.
I hope to be as lucky within the next three weeks using my custom Marlin 336 .35 using the same load combo.

The first buck I ever shot was with a 1950 vintage Marlin in .35. Unfortunately, I was using jacketed then, but also used IMR 3031. That was in S.C.

That's a good buck, especially for the deep south. Nice rifle too, you obviously did your homework both with the rifle and loads and hunting that deer. Congratulations.

Great deer, round and rifle! Nicely done all around! 35 Rem and a nice FP lead boolit have worked very well for me. A few deer and some good sized hogs have been DRT and the rest didn't go far.
I like that sight, Skinner?

No it was a pass through first thing I looked for when I walked up on him. I hit exactly where I was aiming in the sholder but he was quartering more than I thought and it exited in his neck not sure exactly what was so dehibilitating but it certainly was. The alloy is essentially WW alloy 3 to 1 pure to lino air cooled.

I'll join the others to congratulate you on a nice buck. I did a similar thing with my old Marlin in 35 Remington and the 35-200 boolit a couple of years ago. Only thing my buck was not nearly as nice as yours. Good combination. Great to see it all come together. I am not too good at it but I always do my own processing as well. Seems to make the whole process more satisfying. Nice to save the money on processing too!

That 35-200 is a good bullet. Haven't done much with it in the .35 Remington (yet), but worked well including on one deer in my .358.

I used the 358315l yman in my 14" Contender ona couple crop raidersbut had to track them less than 100 yards. I flatpointed the bullets and had MUCH shorter tracking jobs. Then I " soft nosed" some and hadgreatsuccess with them.

Nice buck and nice pic. There is no reason to use any other bullet. It's just a waste of time, components and money. Can't go wrong w/ Skinners either. All of my Marlins, and a Savage 99, wear them :D

Nice indeed! I missed the part where you said what mold? I'm shopping for just that configuration for my .358 Win. Best, Thomas.

These guys got it right, as soon as this season ends I have a Rem 700 in 243 that is going to JES to be bored to 358 Win too I can't wait to see what that puppy will do to a deer...

Well Done on all levels.

And yes, the 35 Remington proved itself many years ago and continues to prove itself.

Don't change something that's working !!

The clones work just as well. As long as they are true to the original dimensions all is good.

Thanks for sharing. The venerable old 35 lever with a 35-200 RF is potent medicine. Can't go wrong with 30-30 either.
