I just purchased a Mod. 70 Alaskan. I am looking for some reduced load info. Any suggestions will be helpful. It is a .375 H&H.

I've used 30 grains of 4759 with a 330 grain boolit for popping steel plates. Purty accrate.

Here is a good place to start for reduced loads http://www.gmdr.com/lever/lowveldata.htm

Also you might find this site useful for your 375 http://webpages.charter.net/375magnum/

Good luck.

2400 in the 20-24 gr area.
30-32grs of 3031
21-24grs of 4227
20-23grs of blue dot
with the 375296 or the 375449 [both gas check molds]
the loads are in the 15-1700 fps area.

5744 works incredibly well in large cases...375 H&H is a very odd cartridge in that it shoots almost everything well. You'll be hard pressed to make ugly groups. I have a Winchester 1885 (Miroku) that shoots the hottest loads accurately or the meekest loads just as accurately.

Great reduced loads my friends and I have used for years in a large number of .375 H&H rifles are 13 grains of either Bullseye, Red Dot or 700-X with #375449 cast soft, 10-12 BHN, sized .379" for most rifles, tumbled in Lee Liquid Alox or LSStuff 45-45-10. No gascheck, no filler needed. Velocity is 1250-1300 fps, approximating .38-55 Winchester black powder loads. Pleasant to shoot, economical, very accurate, effective woods deer load. When your rifle is sighted in at 250 yards with the 235-grain Speer at 2750 f.p.s., use the bottom post of your duplex reticle to provide correct aiming point for the camp meat and biltong load at 50 yards or metres.

reduced load? try trailboss.

This is what I use as well. If I want a load that is reduced but not to the point of trailboss I use h4895 (if there is data for a given round)
