I am putting an 03-A3 from parts but need to modify the bolt handle. I can only shoot with a scope now and need a bolt handle something like the 03-A4 in order to clear the scope. I wondered if I might get a recommendation here as to who I might contact about this?

Any good gunsmith should have a set of bolt bending blocks. If you can't find anyone locally, shoot me an e-mail and I can recommend a guy who's done a bunch of them.

Bolt handle bending should be a snap for any real 'smith.

Also, pre-bent bolt handles are a dime a dozen from most any gun parts supplier.

O3-A4 bolt bodies are sometimes available. They just seem to "look right" on a Springfield with a scope. Be sure to check headspace if you change the bolt body or bolt assembly.

Good luck.

There is a guy whose last name is Roberts (IIRC) who has a web site called "The Bolt Man". Bending bolti is all he does and he does a very fine job for a reasonable price. He has done several for me.. Yes, he does 03 and 03A3 bolts.
