Seems that the stores around here are jumping the gun and raising the prices on EVERYTHING. Last week I stopped at a store to see what they had as I was looking for Alliant Varmint Pro. It was $21.99 a pound. I did not have any $ with me that day so today I stopped again. $37.99/pound. I told him to pound it as he was f'in us and I will not be buying from him again:evil:

Going to the Des Moines G-show this weekend, we'll see if it has changed there too, seems our club has gone up on some powder cost too. Oh boy, here we go again 'maybe'.

Tomme Boy-- your locations is CLINTON Iowa, and the price to shoot just went up???-- there's got to be a good joke in there somewhere!

Yah I know! But the store was in a different locally to me town.

Bill was here a couple weeks ago and he did not stick around very long. TOO many people gave him the cold shoulder

The political stock of the Wicked Witch of the East is sinking badly this afternoon, so perhaps these prematurely gouging powder prices will do the same. Kudos for not doing business with gougers. A local convenience store tripled the price of gasoline on 911, and they have never seen me again.

Prices have never dropped in my area on either powder or primers. $24.99-$31.99 for most powders (that are available) and 37.99-$39.99 for primers. Buying from gun shows and online now.

The guy who would not sell me SR primers by the 100 packs but, had them for sale, individually priced, will be out of business soon. Stopped in Wednesday and he only had 3 lbs of powder and a brick of 209 primers. All his guns were "consignment". Starting to sell used dresses and handbags in the back.....Ha, Ha!

Vote w/ your wallet. This business practice is why many, including myself, will not spend another cent w/ CTD.

I second that! Money talks but the lack of money SHOUTS!

There are businesses that kept their prices righteous and I wait until I can buy from them, and there are the sellers of $70 boxes of .22 and $2 each green tip ammo. Neither one of the last two gets my business. I have been tempted to set a folding chair by the table of over priced green tip, figure anyone buys it I can try to sell them a 20% share in the Mackinac or the Blue Water bridge.

It sounds like a little price gouging going on. I think that you did right telling them you wouldn't be buying from them anymore. I don't have a problem of them limiting my purchases, but don't rip me off, if you want me to buy from you again. I'll drive out of my way to buy somewhere else.

Some LGS have cut their own throat, trying to take advantage and screw their customers. There's one shop in town I won't darken their door, even if they are charging $1.00 per pound...

I was in a Cabela's yesterday. The powder and primers are the same price as always so far. Winchester primers $30.99, S&B $23.99. Powder about $30/lb. Odd thing is they only sell powder by the pound no jugs

Powder has been anywhere from $18.99-$37.99 here. The 38$ one is 5744 which is ALWAYS $$$$ down to bullseye for 19$ Found some 2400 for 24.99 Friday night. And the Varmint also for the same price at a place I have not been to in a while. So not all are going up.

he is just starting the hose down early.
I don't mind prices going up and down as demand or shipping or whatever increases.
but outright gouging or taking advantage of a situation is dishonest.

I know a reloading shop near me that has a couple of powders I have been looking for locally for quite some time.
his prices are completely out of line even now and I won't buy from them.
their shops parking lot is always empty.
he owns another store across town where he sells just Guns his prices there are fair and he will do trade in's.
if I ask about something specific he will go or take me into the back room and bring it out for me.

I haven't seen any Bullseye, Unique or Power Pistol around here since the first of the year. There wasn't any then some showed up and now there hasn't been any.

that's all I see out here.
even during the crush of the last go round I could find bulls-eye and unique.
never used bulls-eye before and still ain't so overly keen on it, but it was available and does fine duty in some cartridges.

I like tightgroup. That is one I stock a lot of. Gives a lot of bang for the buck. I am mainly shooting 9mm now so it works perfect. I have also always been able to find unique. But I HATE it! I have a 8 lber and several 1 lb cans of it here but for emergency use only.

I'm beginning to look at titewad as an alternative to the red/green-dot type powders.

Cabela's was pretty high priced all along, them and Bass Pro Shop's priced it like it came in a pewter can. For the most part I have managed to avoid them. Did one order for 2400 and Green Dot ship to store at Bass Pro Shop, price was probably $35 or $40 more than 10# ordered online with Hazmat fee from other suppliers I have ordered from. But needed some 2400 and at their prices it wasn't flying off the shelf shall we say.
