Anyone having any luck shooting this bullet in there 7mm
military rifles? Been thinking of getting one if they fill the
bore better. Thanks for any info....

that's what they were designed for.
many of the old mauser rifles have stupid big throats and barrels, you'll know them when you charge the target stand in frustration trying to [using jacketed bullets] make a hole in the paper.
when you get to about 10yds and finally see a hole in the paper you'll know why the larger diameter boolits are needed.
to make sure look up this is how I do a pound cast in the search function here.
it will give you the info you need to KNOW what your gun will or won't shoot well.

Thanks runfiverun, I have various 7mm's and none of them shoot worth a damn
with over sized bullets... I think i'll get one of the big ones and see what happens.

I have that mold for my 1916 Oviedo. Works like a champ.

I got the mold used as a GC version. I do check them but only to fill the bottom out, as I tumble lubed them and kept them slow.

Do the standard 7mm checks work ok, or are they a tight
fit on the shank?

I bought the checks from NOE on a subsequent order and they fit just fine.

I wonder if a modern version of the Mine' ball could be developed for use in oversized bores, at moderate velocities of course.

That might not solve the problem of over sized throats though.

It works well in my Boer OVD Mauser, the gas check shank is standard for 7mm gas checks.

I have a VZ24 in 7X57. It was built in the 30's for South American export.

The bore slugs at .287" and it has a long throat so I bought this mold from NOE:

I size them to .291" with a Lee push thru sizer that I honed to size. I use standard 7mm gas checks and 3 light coats of BLL.

It works extremely well.

If you like I could send you some to try, sized or unsized.

Best of luck,

Thanks for the offer Steve, but I don't want to put you out.....
I'll probably think on it for awhile, then order one.
Again, thanks for the offer.
