Mail ordering smokeless powder into NY

Does NY (Long Island) allow people to receive powder through the mail? I'm looking at a sale for some IMR 4198 (just need a couple pounds) and wondering if I can have it shipped to my house?

I don't know about Long Island, but I've ordered it here in NY and got it. Seems like the Safe Act won't let you order ammo, but it will let you order components. When this foolish act went into place I called Cabela's and ordered some bullets for reloading. The sales girl told me I couldn't buy them anymore. I told her to check with her boss. In a couple of minutes she came back and said, "how many do you want"?. You can still roll you own in NY.

As usual the only restrictions would be NYC. You can have powder shipped anywhere else in the state.

There are some online retailers that charge a fee if they cannot process your order due to local laws. Be sure to check the fine print before you accept the terms of the sale.
