View Full Version : Gp100 hammer locked

Remember in this story....gun is unloaded, been stripped, clean, dirt free everywhere, dry lubed.

after loading index the cylinder the wrong way I can't pull hammer back, if I load the cylinder and index the same way the gear work normally travels the cylinder or just pull the hammer back apon closing the gate then my guns hammer comes back

if I index the cylinder myself after loading my hammer won't come back

why is this?

Why index the wrong way? You are taking the hand out of position to turn the cylinder.

Ok. Was just wondering because my other gp I can do it as my inclination is to turn the cylinder the other way after loading. My wrist and habits determined this to be acceptable til this gun started showing me possible problems w this task. I'll call ruger tomorrow and let you all know what they say too. I'll laugh if they say the same thing

They said a sample gun they have in the rack at they're call center doesn't mimic my problem so they think there's a misshapen w my gun and they sent me a label. Reasons why I buy ruger!!!
