the tap-o-caps are no longer made. MANNYCA used to do a similar product but I think he is out of the business, to bad he was very good to deal with, you might pm him and keep your fingers crossed. other than that its the bay.

And they have a compound to make them or any primers go BOOM!

This is something I've wanted to try, so I just ordered one with the primer compound.

If when you get the cap maker it doesn't make cap hulls right.Extend the center pin out .141" and it will make um all day.

Thank you for that, I'll keep it in mind when I get started.

I use a tap o cap, which is the same as theirs, from what I can see. Their primer mix is actually the old H48 primer mixture and it woes work very well. It is a really hot spark. I put a small paper disc over the primer to keep it in place. I made a small dipper out of a small pistol primer, and a large rifle primer, with one soldered on each end of a piece of heavier wire. If my memory is correct, the small pistol primer is the correct amount. After dumping it in the cap, I use a drop of acetone on it, then the small paper disc, and seat it with a small wood dowel. Some guys us a light spray of hair spray on top of everything as well.

All and all, pretty easy to make.

How did you extend the center pin out?

If you have access to a machine shop the plans are all over the "net". I made one and told Mannyca where to find the plans. Took me about an hour to make and it works just fine. I'll use it if I have to but I have 2000 #11 caps already.

My Tap-O-Cap with 2 caps wouldn't set off my cap-lock with bp.

You'll want to weigh it to get the best results.

Try putting a little bp in your Tap-O-Cap before putting the two caps in.

sounds like something that still needs a lot of improvement on.
