My Savage 101 single shot .22 pistol.
I've had this for at least 40 years. I made the box for it in high school wood shop. I used to carry this on my trap line back when I was in school.

So, you thumb a cartridge in, and just manually roll the breechblock into position ?

Never seen one of these. It looks remarkably like a Blackhawk miniature.

Looks almost like the Ruger Single Six.

I too have one in a safe somewhere, but I have only had it about 7 years or so. :)

Nice. I didn't know they made such a thing. Very interesting. Your box turned out really nice too.

I used to have one too. Great little shooter. Sold it and I've been kicking myself ever since. But it helped me get started reloading again...

Yes the barrel and breech just push out to the right and you insert a .22 then close it and cock the hammer. The ejector works just like any other.

Back "in the day" I had one, and sold it because it didn't have adjustable sights. Nice pistol for a beginner tho! Great job on the box!

Thanks. Haven't seen one in a long time, and yours certainly has the best box I've ever seen for one. Great little trapping pistol. Good on ya' for taking such good care of it.

Back in the early 1970`s we were cleaning out the storage room in our general store that we were closing. I came across 3 of these pistols still new and in original boxes from Savage and our distributor. Over the years I sold 2 of them to collectors yet held onto the last for myself. It sits in the safe still in the box and unfired as it left the factory at Savage.Robert

I remember when they first appeared on the market and I think they sold for under $30 but I may be wrong about the price.
