hi! I have a 45-70, a 7.62x54r, and hope to get a 9.3x62 next year, I am hoping for some suggestions on powders that would work well for all 3 calibers. so far I have considered imr4895, and Winchester 760. are these good choices, and does anyone have any better ideas? I know I am thinking way ahead on the 9.3x62 but I am wanting to load up on powder soon, as in before I get it, so I figure it's just best to plan ahead. thanks! Travis

You could do worse than 4895. It will work in all three calibers you name, but in the 45/70 recoil can get brutal real quick.

with 33 gr. of imr4198 and a noe 425 rnfp boolit it kicks about the same as a light 30'06 with store bought ammo, and if anything hit with that lives more than a few seconds, well, just run! I'm sure it would 2 hole a elk, never seen a moose and bison only at a distance so I didn't get a feel for how big they actually are, but I bet it would go through them as well, using an alloy that doesn't expand. for deer, I am either going to use 20:1 or ww/pure half and half. this is my first deer season casting, I had just started last year and wasn't going to leave anything to chance, until I was absolutely sure of my loads/alloys.thanks, Travis

Might consider 3031 also

IMR 4064 is a universal powder for me, it may not be the best choice for many loads, but I've found it to give very good results in everything I've spent the time to work with. Also, Varget is another of my favorites I would try in anything from .30WCF class cartridges through "standard" cartridges, to some big bore magnums.

3031 and RL7 and RL15 cover my bandwidth

If you are looking at cast bullet reduced loads consider unique.

no reduced loads, but I usually stay closer to the starting load than the max load. I have heard 3031 burns dirty, is that true? and I have thought about reloader 10, would it work for all three cartridges?
