I have a Carcano 6.5x52. The proper bullet diameter in .268, and I cannot find a ready supply of this caliber bullet. Does anyone know of anywhere I can find a mold for this calber? I am considering making a mold for it, but if something is available I would like to know.

Thanks

Try NOE molds

The last I knew Grafs and Midway had the Hornady oversize bullet but don't take that to the bank. Get the proper mold and do it right rather than another yapper about the good for nothing carcanos. Treat them right and they work fine if all the barrel is there assuming a gain twist might be what you have.

What nekshot is saying is that the Carcano rifles had gain twist rifling in the barrel, that started off slow and ended fast. When they were cut down to carbines that left them with the slow twist with out the gain to the fast twist. Now there are problems stabilizing the normal long bullets.

Mine is a short barreled 1891, 1934 mfg. Its gain twist.

I'm a bit suprised how badly folks think of this rifle. The italians were very happy with it through 4 or 5 wars. Thats as many as the Americans fought with the 30-06...
