I have not paper patched anything, but I do collect information about it for the day that I decide to try it. Some of that information confuses me a bit, though it may make more sense once I have materials in front of me.

But one fundamental property still escapes my understanding. That is straight-sided bullets versus tapered sides.

Can somebody explain the strengths/weaknesses of both...or tell me which circumstances demand that one be used rather than the other?

In my world of patching the straight sided bullet is under bore size and the tapered bullet is groove size at the base ,,the taper allowing the bullet to be seated in the throat.......Dean
