I am sure that many of you have seen a ML going off at night. This video is of a fast twist gun. You can see the fire twist as it comes out.

I assume that is one of your paper patched bullets. Are you sure that isn't the paper?

I was thinking the same thing... paper or fouling/ash following the slug for a bit.

Neat! Was that with real BP or sub? Not that it matters, just curious.

I have a over powder wad. The paper never sees any fire. The paper is always confetti not burnt.

Felt wad? Maybe the wad with burning embers in it?
Now what we'll need is a slow-mo video so we can be absolutely sure what that spiral of flame/sparks is. Pretty cool looking whatever it is. Of course BP at night is pretty much always exciting with all the sparks and flash.

Forgot about you using the wad. Yep, I'd say it is the residual powder.

The wad is coated with lube. When they come out they have a stain where the powder was but they are never burnt. The embers are powder.
