What would be a good starting point to size my boolits to for my 30-06? The bore slugs to .3095 to .310 to the best of my ability to check.

My go to size on any U.S. made .30 cal is .311. Frank Marshall always said the best diamater was at or 1/2 thou under throat diamanter.

I would start at .311, if your mold will drop them that big they might shoot best unsized even.

The barrel is a good sizer usually produces a perfect fit,but I use a lubrasizer, so I go with a .311 die to lube with. DALE

Yap .311 minunim and .312 won't hurt anything if the nose fits the throat.

see what size your mold makes your boolits at, my mix they pour out at 310 so thats what i size and shoot them at.
work with what ya got to start , then see where you are at or what you want to improve on.

Well I sized to .311 and the round won't chamber. The nose fits the bore(measures .3085) with very faint lines. The bullets cast at .3115 to .312. Can I size them down to .309?

Resized to .309. Neck chambers well but the boolit is hitting the rifling. Not real bad but I have to push the bolt the last 1/8" with slight pressure. I can see the marks on the nose when I retract it. The COL is correct as per Lyman Cast book. Is this OK?
This is the first time I've cast for a rifle.

I use the Lee 303B mold @312. I then size it down to .311 with gas check.
Easy to handle, fits well in the case. I do not crimp.
I pan lube with goatlips receipe with a tad of marvel mystery oil.

The nose of the boolit is being engraved by the rifling. If you can chamber the round without much trouble it doesn't hurt a thing when using cast, it might even help. You might check your brass to see if the necks are to thick, thinner necks will let you use bigger boolits.

It is usually best to size to slightly over groove but I have shot groove size with good results. I try what I have and shoot what I got before buying something else because sometimes things work when they shouldn't.
