I got news today I got a regular place as a crossing guard, been subbing all over town. The regular place is 1 block from the house. I am retired and at 77 still like to have something to go do and feel like I am useful.

Congrats on the new assignment. I'm retired, too, and I thank the Lord, I have no need for another job, and certainly have no lack of things to keep me busy.

Good to see you doing something that matters. Crossing guards are more important than most folks would think. You're obviously the kind of guy that does things for his OWN reasons, and not for kudos and lauding from the public, but FWIW, here's a kudo from me to you anyway. Keep on keepin' on! Great job. Guys like you are SO reliable! You're not just there for the paycheck!
