We usually put on a 1-1/2 hour program and the hawk throwing portion consisted of the following..
To start we ran into the area and as we ran past the block we threw the hawks while running and broke a balloon. used both round and long balloons for targets and used SHARP hawks. Before every crowd we sliced a sheet of paper to show that these were not toys.
hen we demonstrated different throws from distances to 80 feet. Right hand left hand both hands. and multiple hawks up to 4 hawks with two in each hand. To demonstrate the power of the hawks we would split a 4" diameter oak disk 2" thick. Splitting the block and burying the hawk an inch deep or more into the backstop. At 18 feet I would cut first one balloon out of my partners hand and then we would cut two balloon with two hawks in one hand and then two with a hawk in both hands. We threw laying down and upside down between the legs. We usually finished by throwing 4 hawks inline across the block two in each hand of I would cut a balloon from my partners hand while blindfolded.
Each throw was mapped out and there were slights to each thing we did and I will tell some of the tricks of the trade as this goes along.
