JB-Weld oughta hold it.

Wow, they usually come pre-broke. I'm surprised anything else could go wrong!

.

Taurus might eventually replace the slide, but you'll be (very) old & gray by the time you get it back. :violin:

If you really like the platform, and assuming it is still fresh, insert the recoil spring into a Beretta and carry on. :) I'm sorry, the "T" word and me have a bit of history. At this point I'd take those jokers up on their awesome warranty. You may get lucky, but be prepared for a BS fest leaving you with a still broken gun. Good luck.

"Sorry, but your firearm is being deemed irreparable. We are going to keep it as a safety measure and instead of returning it we will give you a coupon for $10.00 off of one of our other fine products."

Expect to hear something of this sort when you get in touch with customer service......

Don't send the gun to Taurus, instead buy a new slide from gun parts and then send the broken slide to Taurus asking for a replacement

Don't send the gun to Taurus, instead buy a new slide from gun parts and then sell it to the first gumby you find at the next gun show.

There, I fixed that for you.

I might mention that the rear part slide flew back and hit me in the face and scratched the left lens of my eyeglasses. I got a pretty nasty wound under my nose.

Wally - you need to document your wound with witness statements if you want to pursue legal action with Taurus - as far as replacement parts.

Isn't the same issue/problem that came up with the early M9s?

Thank you for the tip as to what to do.

Yes indeed--seems that the slides were not heat treated properly. In looking over the slide at the locking bolt cuts, seems to me a very poor design as the area that locks the barrel is at the thinnest part of the slide. No wonder the Army wants to replace the M9. Of course I never understood why revolver cylinder have notches cut in them where they do either.

Be thankful you were wearing your glasses.

No idea on getting them to fix your pistol.

JB-Weld oughta hold it.

With JB and duck tape it will probably be stronger than new. Another part, like the frame, will then most likely fail.

Yes, I was thinking that a new part will do me no good as it too will eventually fail. I never want tho go through this experience ever again.

That I am----I could care less if they fix--if they send me a big check I'll happily buy a Ruger...

Wally, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high on that score. But see what your lawyer thinks.

I know Taurus gets a bad rap but I had a friend that had purchased a 92 second hand. It was stolen from him and recovered. It sat in evidence and when he finally received it back (after a year there) it was inoperable. I told him I had heard that their warranty was lifetime and he had nothing to lose. He talked to them and sent it to them. They replaced everything except the frame and sent it back, free of charge...

Because of his experience my next pistol was a Taurus, a PT1911. I've never had a problem with it, it's accurate and feeds everything I give it. That has been many years ago now.

As long as people keep buying junk, Taurus will keep producing junk.

I've owned 5 Tauri- only had a problem with one(a PT-22) and they repaired and returned it in one week. I currently have that one and a stainless one. With CCI Mini Mags they are flawless. This was 4 years ago; maybe their QC & CS are bad now. Best, Thomas.
