I recently bought the above mould in 4C from a member here, and while it cast's very well, I was surprised that the boolits weighed only 252g. With the gas check installed, the weight is still only 260g. I thought this design was supposed to drop nominal 270g with the gas check? My alloy is as close to 1/2 ww and 1/2 pure lead as I can measure. Perhaps what I thought was pure lead, ain't so pure? What kind of weights are you folks getting with the same mould. I also have the MP-433-640L(for light) and it drops boolits in the 230g nominal weight range from the same alloy.

Mine gives me 265 for the plain base solid. Also have the "L" version, it recently gave me 215 for the large, round hollow point and plain base.

I'd have to re-weigh mine but IIRC they weigh 270 gr. (or close) in solid and 258 gr. with the large HP pin. My mould is PB so maybe slightly heavier than a GC design.

Not sure if I have a selection cast currently. I'll have to check. If I do I'll re-check weights.

Mine are 275gr solid with lube and an aluminum gas check. The large HP cavity subtracts 10 grains. It is a fairly recent run mold. I'm using range scrap.
