178184Took this 2x4 yesterday morning with my Winchester 71 Deluxe built in 1940, unfortunately I don't have a mould for it so I used some reloads with Hornady 200 grain jacketed. He's just over 24" wide and was very heavy and fat. Going to be great eating. The second picture is him hanging on one of my two new 1500 pound electric winch game hoists that we installed in a purpose built 16' tall dormer in my garage. The hoists run on 5" I beam. Got tired of bumping in to hanging animals. Can't wait to try the hoists on elk.178182178183

it looks like it even has the factory peep sight.

I had one just like it for a while and used the 200 gr Hornady too, it was like having a 30-06 with extra smack down in your hands.

Not all the model 71s had the bolt mounted factory peep, but I've never seen an original deluxe model 71 without the factory peep.

You ever come across a model 71 with a 20 inch barrel, they didn't make a lot of them.
