I finally got the stock screws that came with my bushnell phantom trimmed to hold the mount to my contender, and cleaned up the standard screw heads that had the screwdriver slip over the years, and then one stripped when torquing it down.

Anyone know now of any replacement hex screws? Or what is the thread?

thanks,

The thread is 6-48 and you can get them here http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/small-hardware/metal-screws/torx-head-scope-ring-base-screw-kit-prod41830.aspx

I keep the whole screw kit from brownell's.
To even have a Phantom scope that long is something. I still remember mine.
But what screw is it? Base or mount?

OK, base screw should be 1 in 48. Phantom was a super good scope, one of the first for handguns. I loved mine. Sadly it was on my 27 with a ribbed 8-3/8" barrel when I sold it.
I envy you!
