I am new to the 380 and have some 356-102-1R bullets cast up. Does anyone have a pet load for this boolit? I will be shooting them in a Walther PPK. I'm thinking about bullseye or 231 because I have those on hand.

I asked a similar question a couple of months ago, only on which mould to buy for the Walther..

With that boolit, I'm using about 6gr Blue Dot with a decent crimp from the Lee FCD.

Bullseye is a might on the fast side, but I find that in my 9mm, 3.5gr under a Lee TL-356-125-2R works well as a target load.. You might want to try 3gr and work up from there.

C.O.L. at .980"
Bullseye 3.6gr
WIN 231 3.7gr

That's data from Hornady book for their 100gr fmj. Max charges.
I've been shooting Bullseye at max load in an AMT 380 Backup for thirty years. Never get any leading even with soft swagged bullets.
With a low pressure round I'd use a soft lube like BAC from Lars. For a defense load you might try Johnson's paste wax to avoid any possibility of the lube melting into your powder. Hard lube wouldn't melt but wouldn't do anything either.
Never tried JPW myself but what ever wax they use on the swagged bullets works for a 380 acp.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna get some of these loaded up. I hope to get some tested next week and will post results.

Blue Dot and 231 both work great in several of my 380's. 231 for plinking, Blue Dot for serious jacketed
