I picked up my Kimber ProCarry II HD 45 ACP Monday and finally got to the range with it. Its been a long time since I have owned a 1911 and I got a real good price on this one.
After reading all the threads about shooting the Lee 200 gr Semi Wadcutters in 1911's I was a little apprehensive. I shouldnt have been, I ran over 200 rounds through it without so much as a hiccup, and they shot a lot better than the factory loads I used in it. I loaded them with 5.4 grains of Titegroup and left about 30 -40 thousandths of the shoulder exposed as was suggested here by several folks. I was using Speed Green Lube (thanks Bullshop] I had loaded some 230 gr. hardball just in case, I used Bullseye for that. I think the Bullseye shot a little cleaner but thats probably because there was no lube there, I am gonna try some but really like the Titegroup. I use Titegroup in my 45 LC and am trying to consolidate powders where I can (I have way too much powder, lol).
Thanks to everyone on this site for all your help and advice. I started casting a year or so ago with the help from you guys and am hooked. Hope I can keep finding lead.
