I've got the itch to try cast in a 7mm Rem Mag.

maybe something like this one from NEI

7701

or a bit heavier if I can find it.

Am I dreaming to think that cast boolits will work in this thing?
Let me hear your comments / recommendations.
Thanks

do a search for 7mm in the old threads there are a few here that are using cast in the 7mm rem mag.

+1 on the RCBS! I don't use it in a Mag, but it sure works in a lot of other 7's I have.

Jake,

Thanks for the tip, I missed that RCBS boolit. You wouldn't happen to have a dozen or so to trade before I buy the mould, would you?

With a case that big and over bore it might be worth researching the capacity reducing methods so you can get better ignition.

I purchased the RCBS mold but haven't cast any yet, and don't have a sizer. I plan to use them mostly for a 7 TCU but will also try them in a 7 Rem Mag.

The Lyman Cast Bullet manual lists loads for 7 Rem Mag.

Well, I received a handful of the RCBS bullets from Calamity Jake last week. Thanks much!
To someone like me who is used to working with .35 & .44 cal handgun bullets these 7mm ones sure are looong and skinny.
I loaded half a box with 15 gr of Green Dot & mag primers and went out to the range.
After I figured out they were hitting a good foot below them whiz-bang jacketed bullets, I was able to put the last 4 into 1-1/4 inch. I may be on to something here.
