Ok I have really stepped in it. I rebarreled a rem 788 in 22-250 to 6mm250. This isn't the stepped in it part it a 12twist Krieger barrel and I'm getting 2980fps out of a 20.5" tube and 85gr sierras into 1 hole at 100yd. The really stepped in it part is that I ASSUMED that 6-250 would fit the magazine. Today I actually tried and this happened
what can I do? I have no problem cutting out the front of the magazine and even a little channel in stock for the bullet if need be but I'm not sure it would feed. The plate at the rear of the magazine could be thinned a bit maybe? If I can get it to feed just 1 round I'd be happy enough. Not gonna use it on anything that bites back so a 2 shooter would be fine. Any ideas??? Thanks much fellas

Try just seating the bullet deeper,it might still shoot good.

I would try seating deeper also, are you longer than a 308 and if not get a 308 clip but I think all 788 clips are pricy.

It's a 22-250 clip (308 mag won't fit177792bI rebarreled to 6mm-250 and never even considered a 85gr bullet being longer than a 50gr 224. It shoots worse the farther from the rifling. I sourced a replacement mag and then tried a fix. Ground out a small groove for bullet tip to protrude through It feeds two from the magazine now. I'm ok with a 3-peater so I'm gonna give it a go
