I use standard primers for 9 mm & 45 acp. Unique powder in both.
Sometimes standard primers are hard to come by. Can magnum primers be used in these two cartridges without problems?

Yes, probably. Start 10% below your present load and work up. Your gun and load may not like mag primers. I have used them in 9mm but not 45.

This is for RWS but you get the idea:

Bmi48219--back during the big primer and powder shortage of a couple of years ago our club's on site pro-shop was still able to get magnum pistol primers when they couldn't get standard small and large pistol primers. The revolver shooters reported no problems, but a couple of the semi-auto pistol shooters experienced cracked frames., both 1911-types in .45 ACP. I can not say as a certainty that the magnum primers were at fault, but I'd avoid them if at all possible.

I have used CCI LPM's in place of LP's in .45acp 185 and 230 without any noticeable difference in POI etc... I never load to full power so no need to worry there.
