Please help me figure something out.

During the last 15% sale, I bought that neat little 100 grain wadcutter mold from NOE. There is no load data for that bullet per se. There is 110 grain jacketed data, which is close in weight, and there's 125 grain data, which is close in seating depth. The WC seats just a little deeper than a 125 grain. So I'm starting with 125 grain data, but I would think safe levels would be more than that with this light of a bullet.

Here's Alliant 2016 data:

110 gr JHP
Bullseye 4.6 gr
Unique 5.8 gr

125 gr JHP
Bullseye 4.5 gr
Unique 5.7 gr

Here's Lyman Cast Bullet 4th Edition data:

Lee 358-105-SWC
Red Dot 4.4 gr
Bullseye 4.6 gr

Lyman 358242
Red Dot 4.6 gr
Bullseye 4.6 gr
Unique 5.7 gr

What would you say would get me close to full standard pressure with that bullet? I have Red Dot, Bullseye, and Unique on hand.

I'm loading for an old Colt Cobra 2". I know I need to be careful with this old aluminum gun---that's why I'm asking here to make sure I don't push it too hard.

I'm not trying to make a powder puff load with the minimum amount of powder that will shoot. I've got that pretty much down already. I'm trying to make a full standard pressure load.

Thanks!

Jeff

I would go with either 4.2 grains of Bullseye or 4.5 grains of ww.231 and work up to a max of about 4.7 Bullseye or 5.0 231.
I have shot a lot of the 358-101 75 grain WC, I have a 2 cavity that I bought years ago when my kids were little to make powder puff loads for them to learn on. For a minimum load, try 2.5 grains of Bullseye and a stout crimp.
