Grilled backstrap from the 2015 Buck taken with a NOE 265 RNFP from a Ruger Bisley Hunter model cooked over lump charcoal till just pink in the center, Illini extra sweet corn, horticultural beans and home made dill pickles. All of the meal came from the land we live on. Gormet cooking don't stand a chance against that.

Grass feed Angus T bones were on the grill today. An hour before I threw foil wrapped sweet potatoes with butter and brown sugar, on the coals, and fresh sweet corn. I bet those backstraps were tasty, Thumbcocker, as I am waiting for Nov. again to replenish the freezer with more venison.

Was invited to our oldest offspring's house for supper. Tender rib eye steak, baked potato, sweet corning on the cob, fresh peach cobbler with ice cream. Was wonderful, but I'm suffering this morning from the results of stuffing my face. :-)

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Did we miss hearing the dinner bell? That sounds like a feast to put most to shame! Glad it was a good day for you!

Hi...

Grilled rib eyes with portabella mushrooms, crab cakes and steamed broccoli for Labor day. Cherry cheese cake for dessert.

Steak was so big, I had enough left over for lunch the next day.

Dang, y'all know how to eat good!

Can't say that I've been able to enjoy venison in the recent past, been a long time since I was out hunting due to losing out on a place to go. One day though :)

I went bowling. Had 10 pins and a shoot out. First one to shoot five pins wins. Did it with .45 ACP for a while then changed up to SW500 mag, SW460 mag and .475 Linebaugh. Brought along my Camp Chef oven and cooked home maid sweet rolls with frosting. Not as good to eat as what I have been reading about but it sounds like I had a better time shooting. Eating and Shooting, my two favorite subjects! (Not necessarily in that order.)
