Anyone have data for the 454 using the Cast Performance 335 SWCGC bullet and 2400 powder? I have about 5 pounds of 2400 and a couple hundred of the afore mentioned bullets but can't find any load data. Will be using it in the Ruger Alaskan.

No personal experience with that exact combination, but I did try 2400 with a 300 gr XTP mag in 454. It was kind of erratic so I gave up on it and didn't even try heavier bullets. I now use 4227 with 325 and 335 gr cast bullets in my 454. Recoil seems kinder and less muzzel flash (than H110), spread with the chrony is excellent, and accuracy is excellent.
I don't know if it is a case capacity thing or if I was getting to the limit of 2400 but it just didn't seem like a good fit (gun was a FA with 4 3/4 bbl).

2400 works great in my .357 mag with 190 gr bullets btw.

Thanks but I'm in NC. I have a couple pounds of H110, WW296 and 4227 so I have powder to load. I've used 2400 with 325gn Hard Cast with good results. I'm shooting these out of a Ruger Alaskan so I am trying to stay with a fast burner.

I have some load data that was published in American Handgunner in 1987. In fact the data is so old the cases are marked Freedom Arms and featured large pistol primers. 2400 was made by Hercules at that point too, so likely a different burn rate to the 2400 made by Alliant today. The bullet is a cast SSK 340 gr and the pistol was a 10" FA83.

With all that as background, here is the load data:

2400 Velocity (10" bbl)

21 1329
22 1442
23 1485
24 1548
25 1596

Use discretion with the info.
