Finally have it all together, barrel has been with me a couple weeks been looking at making brass did a couple then bought 100 once fired, I like making cases but those are a pain. Loaded up some 290 gr cast bullets over 296 going to the range Monday. Hope to be ready for white tail in November.

I found mine to be a pain also and ran into a gunsmith that had a 45-70 reamer and throat reamer who told me that it would be no problem - and it wasn't until I pushed the power curve (which is easy in 45-70).

And yes the .458 bullets shoot just fine thru the .452 barrel no pressure signs with factory level loads.

I have a .45 Win Mag cylinder for my Freedom Arms 83. I bought 200 brass from Starline and almost 400 1X from an individual on this board. Can't see trying to make brass from something else.
