Here is a group from my M91 Westinghouse from last fall. I was sighting in for deer season. This rifle and this particular load put 2 deer in the freezer last year. It was at 50 off a bench and bags. It was good for me.It was a Speer 150 gr. SP over 52 gr. IMR4350. Once I compensated for the insane graduated sighting scale I was pretty good. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/Evansguns/102_1695.jpg

The current issue of The American Rifleman has a good article on these US made Rooski rifles.

Got my New England Westinghouse Mosin standing here by the computer. Went to Russia and Bulgaria before making its way back here, well worn and with parts from several original sources, but still with a pretty good bore and chamber. (Counterbored about 2" in from the muzzle.) Good shooter.

"Good shooter" I bet she is. Don't think she'll like the "well worn" comment.

That is one Beautiful rifle! If I ever find one like that, I'm jumping all over it! I know Remington made them, too, but I really NEED a NEW M91.:-D

BTW, your Daughter is very good looking as well.:drinks:

Thanks, and my wife thanks you too! :-D

I love those old long infantry rifles of all sorts, but am especially fond of the M91.

She doesn't mind modeling the rifles.

So now we know how your boss gets you to finish your chores before she allows you back in the house!!

Ricochet, Where did you get that sculpture?

Ricochet,

I'm in Moscow now and have seen a bunch of the '3 line' rifles in their
museums, but they all have nasty ~3/8" holes drilled into the chambers and
most are totally beat to death. They did have a real presentation model of
a 91/30, a PPSH sub gun and an AK47 with stock plaques inset in tiger striped wood,
fine polish and nice varnish, highly polished blued finish, etc. Looked WEIRD
with that nice finish on them. Sad to see the nasty demilled pistols, too.
10mm hole in each chamber of cyl and thru the back of bbl too. A shame to see
in a .44 S&W Russian in mint condition! A couple of well worn US 1911 and 1911A1
pistols looked intact, but were certainly neutered inside somehow.

NSP64, the sculpture's one my daughter made. The ends of the branches have "flowers" with glass eyes in them.

She might make you one if you asked real nicely. She's got a website over on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/jennculp Not a lot of pics of her art, but some on there.

Right now she's sort of preoccupied with a boyfriend.

She said: "I'd be happy to make him one if Catherine will let me access the sculpture studio. I could make him a small-scale (between 1 and 2 feet in height) copper version with the equipment I have at home, but he probably couldn't leave one like that outside.
Jenn"

(She's between semesters at the university where she welded up the steel one out front.)
