Hi Everyone,

I'm building a 30-06 on a BRNO VZ-24 Mauser action, and I'm debating whether to get a Stock with a full aluminum bedding block from either Hogue or Bell & Carlson, or a laminate stock from Boyds (my go-to for custom builds) and bed it myself. I'm wondering how well the aluminum bedding blocks actually fit military actions, since you often see some slight tolerance differences among military rifles that aren't as bad in good modern factory rifles. My concern is that if I go with a aluminum bedding block , that there still might be a gap between the block and the recoil lug and I'll end up bedding it anyway to fill that gap.

Has anyone put a VZ-24 or Mauser 98 action in a stock with a full aluminum bedding block? If so, how well did it fit? I want to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. Pics of custom rifles are always appreciated!

Thanks!
