Just shot some cast in my Kleinguenther 375H&H which were very good.

Started with 32gr RL7 w/filler. At 100 it shot just under 2", 33gr were 1.25", & 34gr were .75".

This was with the NOE 270gr solid.

By the way, these were fired "after" I had shot 20+ rounds of jacketed.

By the book 34gr is max for 264gr but I had no pressure signs.

Forgot to chrony, so don't know the speed. Will load some & just pop em off behind the house on my short range & get speed. Bought one of the new bayonet type chrony, so don't need to set up. Tried it once & it was easy.

PS: the .75 cast was better than any of my jacket groups lol, & this is out of 1/2 minute rifle

Have a peek here------------

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?253794-375-Holland-amp-Holland-Paper-Patch

i run 20/1 boolits to jacketed velocities (2700 FPS) since this initial Paper Patch test----------the NOE bullet works super

Just so you know, right next to the 34 grain load you mentioned for the 264 grain boolit, Lyman lists 37.5 of Reloader 7 as max for the 335 grain boolit.
Not any wonder that you didn't have pressure signs.

Well hellll! Just ran down to the shop & looked at the book. I never even looked at it since 335 is way above my molds.

Just doesn't make sense that it would be that much more lead & that much more powder.

lol I guess the 34.5 I inched up on the powder ain't going do squat. Guess I'll have to fireform a few more pieces so I can run it up until accuracy goes south or pressure shows up.

Not a lick of leading, so I'll keep trying. But, it will take some to beat .75", but if I can get more speed with comparable accuracy, then, that's the ticket.

I totally admire you guys subjecting your shoulder to a pounding and say its "fun"!! Our pastor was showing me his 375 H&H with solids and I started hurting looking at it!

lol, I just got a 26" Encore barrel and have some 235gr bullets loaded to somewhere above 2,800fps (book load says the load I've used is 2,800fps using a 24"). Will be shooting it this weekend, should be fun... :kidding:

I was running a 310gr BRP boolit over 4759 at 2100fps. Wasn't too bad to shoot out of my #1. Sure puts a "thump" on our steel gongs

Really, the 375, when not loaded hot with 300 jacketed, is not that bad. Remember, the H&H has a tapered case with mild shoulder. It is a push rather than a kick. Overbore cartridges are what really kick, e.g. 300 Wby, 378, 460, even hot 300 Win & 338s have more "kick" + any of those with large case with a sharp shoulder necked to a smaller caliber.

I have 2 375s with breaks & 2 without. One without is a 375/338 & it has more kick than the larger, more powder H&H without break, due to the overbore compared with the H&H. It also, like many smaller case mags, is more efficient & actually shoots faster with less powder.

You really can't go wrong with a 375. Can be loaded down for deer or black bear or up for elk, moose, griz. Shoots as flat as a .308 180.

Also, as I found out, it likes the NOE 275 at 100. Have to run it out to see how far out it will shoot.

I shot my 375 earlier today, really wasn't that bad, I've shot 12 gauge loads that were worse. I was concerned with the light weight of my rifle (8lb 4oz) but really didn't have an issue.

Told ya, & with 250s/270s, it's pretty mild.

Loaded up several loads for the 300. Fireformed 12 more & did 3 more sets in the cast at 35.5, 36.5, 37.5. Shot one at 37.5 to check pressure & didn't see any.

My load was 71gr of H335 under a Speer 235gr, out of 26" of barrel should give me in the neighborhood of 2,900, will chronograph it later. My 3 sons enjoyed shooting it as well.

I started out building a 375 H&H on a worked over P-14 action but found a left handed 375 Ruger African for less than I could finish the H&H.
I think my old 300 Win Mag with 200gr bullets kicked harder than my 375 Ruger with 270gr bullets. I know my 7mm rem Mag Tikka T3 lite seems like it kicks harder.

I was really hoping to draw an Elk tag this year so I could use the new 375 Ruger. I did draw a deer tag but I think the 375 will be a bit much for a mule deer. Have the 7mm or 6.5x55 for deer.

Load that ruger with boolits that are just 1 or 1.5 thou smaller then the neck of your fired brass and work up a load using 4350 IMR. That will give you a deer load.

I am currently working with a 264 grain accurate molds boolit #380250B. I lucked out with my fired cases that measure at .3785 so the .380 just fits perfectly with just the rite amount of neck friction. Now just gotta find the sweet spot.

I have a sweetheart load with hornady 300 grain jacketed shooting 58 grains 4350IMR and it drills same hole groups at 50 when i have good eyes days. Thinkin about trying this load with the cast boolit mentioned ... Tryed paperpatch but got the wrong size wrapped and it shed the paper and made a mess in the barrel.

The fun never stops with these cast bullets.
